I purchased a domain a little more than a month ago and haven’t done much with it since. I decided to finally edit the contents, but I try to go to webhosting.yahoo.com and I get redirected to AT&T. It asks me to sign in, even though I had already signed in just before being redirected. I’ve gone to the Small Business Help page and clicked on the links there in attempt to reach my Control Panel, only to be redirected to the same AT&T page. I’ve read other forums that said it’s possibly Spyware, so I’ve ran Adaware and Norton to no avail, and have also installed Redirect Remover for Firefox, but it’s all been in vain.
Even when I go ahead and log into AT&T (My DSL is provided through Yahoo!/AT&T) it still does nothing other than shows that I’ve logged in.
My domain has not expired, because my credit card was billed for it, and for the first week I was able to access it and make edits. However It just seems impossible for me to get anywhere. If more information is needed, just ask, because I would really like this to be fixed so I can manage my site.
Assuming the worst in that there is no resolution, how difficult would it be to transfer my domain to another host? I hear Godaddy is a great host. Is it possible to transfer without being able to log into my Control Panel?
Thank you everyone in advance!
1) As you have AT&T’s DSL service (which I’ll note uses Yahoo!’s search engine but is not actually connected to Yahoo!), I assume this means you have an att.net, pacbell.net, or sbcglobal.net email address.
2) Dependant on when you got your internet service with AT&T, this email address may utilize Yahoo!’s Webmail service.
3) If you purchased the domain one month ago, it would mean it was not purchased with your AT&T/SBC id. If you are logged into your AT&T id automatically, the address you enter will redirect you via a trap page.
4) What you need to do is first log out of any Yahoo! services you are logged into. Then get rid of the address http://webhosting.yahoo.com. It works, but it’s outdated. A better address to access your services with Yahoo! is http://yahoosb.com — or, if the redirect doesn’t work, http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com (and then press on the ‘Small Business’ button).
5) That said, if this fails to work, call into their web hosting support department (open 24/7) at 1-866-800-8092, option 1-1-1
