I have 2 hosts machines and each machine is running a windows 7 as a virtual machine with VMWare. The settings in VMware have been to change to bridge connections. If hostA has guest. And hostB has a guest and the guestA can PING its own host(A) and hostB, why can’t GuestA PING with guestB?
I was just wondering if i could create an actual domain off of a virtual winserver2008 R2 (running in vmware) to my home network. What would the safety implications be? Would it be worth it?

I have a friend of mine who has offered to set me up with a linux-based VPS, and was thinking of starting a webhosting business with this? I am somewhat experienced with computers and used virtual machines on a range of OS’s (host and virtual).
I am currently dual-booting Linux(Debian-based) and Windows(vista).
My question really is: Can i use my windows inside a virtual machine on my Linux, or my Linux inside a virtual machine on my Windows?

I’m running a virtual computer (Windows XP Home SP3) through Sun xVM VirtualBox 2.0.4 on a Windows Vista Host. The virtual computer is connected to the internet via a virtual adapter that connects to the host’s internet connection. Would a virus/spyware that is being acquired by the virtual machine infect the host during the time period when the virus/spyware is downloaded by the host for the guest?
I am considering hosting my own website at home using a regular PC, and software like Appserv. However, many people say that such solutions are only good for testing and are not secure enough for internet hosting. I want to know how to either make my website hosting more secure, or how to implement other professional solutions like installing and setting up windows server.
I have currently 3 years of Industry experience and currently working as a contractor for Managed Web hosting company.
I gave my GRE this year. Got calls from University of Southern California Arizona State university(MS in Computer Studies) and Oregon State university.
Now my doubt is which university should I join, I am inclined toward joining USC because of its being high ranked. However I just wanted to ask whether its high fees is worth it or not?
