If I have domain name that I’d like to register, what is the cheapest and easiest way to register it and what company should I use to host my site. I am very tech savvy and can build my own site and possibly manage it also. Thoughts?

Particularly your name .com but most likely your name .com is probably already taken so you should go regrister a .ws domain name because it stands for website which is the next big extension. I registered a domain from godaddy, but found the hosting to be a bit expensive, shopped around and found that I would like to host with Ipage. So signed up for a hosting plan, and then I thought I could just transfer the domain. Apparently I have to wait for the domain to be 60 days old?? So what should I do, I need this done withing 2 weeks for my final project for college. Should I get a refund from Ipage and have to host with godaddy?
I am trying to find a low cost website host and domain seller for a non-profit organization. A local webdesigner donated their services and created us a beautiful, professional site and did it in Dreamweaver so that we can update it from our office without much skill. So the hosting must be able to work with Dreamweaver.
I paid for a domain name & hosting, and I prepaid annually. It was fine since 2002
Last fall new company bought out old company and didn’t tell anyone. They didn’t send out rewal notices. My two sites were shut down. I contacted them REPEATEDLY and they don’t reply. The few times they did write back theyd “look into it” and it’s still not fixed.
Turns out the original company put the ownership and all the control in THEIR name even know I paid for the name. New company locked it so I can’t alter or move my name.
I contacted the upper level reseller, godaddy.com, for help. They had me fill out forms, which I did; no reply back. I filed a Reqest for Change last November for both of them formally including sending my photo ID and proof I was paying for the name; no reply. ICANN won’t help me.
Right now my site is gone. They put some junky search page up.
The site isn’t worth a fortune so I can’t hire lawyers, but it’s basically my real NAME. It’s important to me

I purchased a website hosting package from volusion a week ago, i have realised i need a domain that is .co.uk so i cant buy it from volusion( they don’t do .com domains). So all i want is to buy adomain from a thrid party, i dont need another webhosting site that charges £30 plus for a year. I need a cheap £2-3 register a domain website.
