In this screencast I show you how to configure a BASIC (keep that in mind) virtual host for Apache on Debian-based Linux distributions (mine being Linux Mint 10). I had audio in place for the screencast but LiVES decided that it didn’t want to recognize the audio stream that went with the video so I had to put a song in the background and rely on annotations to explain what’s going on. I am working on a transcript for this on my blog at linuxwrap.wordpress.com. The transcript features more details about what’s going on in the background and some of the theory here. The background music is called “White Castle” by Kismet.
My client has a website that Im moving to a dedicated server because the site was getting a lot of traffic. How can I test my new dedicated server’s performace before i make the move. Is there a way to make the server react to some fake web server requests, and come up with a comparison number?
I cannot for the life of me find the file manager or the public folder directory so I can upload html files, images or scripts. All I managed to do so far was change the nameservers, add a hostname, which is some word plus my domain name, again, this is for a Linux cPanel VPS acct., NOT shared.
Since it is an unmanaged VPS acct no support is given by Dotster
anyone know of a in-depth and easy tutorial, besides this host. I need this really quick.

I have an ubuntu host system set up and I have installed a windows xp guest virtual machine on virtualbox. I am using the same network on both and I was just wondering, if a virus infects the windows virtual machine, can it affect the host in any way?
